When Life Is Green

My story was old with worn plot and pages too,
Still I read that book over and over again
Till crushing emptiness filled my heart
And I cringe in fear,
Weakened by my soulful cries..

Suddenly, I rise from the dirt,
Up from the past that is rooted in pain
I rise, I fly
Then I see thy face-great source of light
That gives me strength to fight..

I only ask for this much
I give you blue from the sky
And you give me yellow from the moon
Together we make simple green
Because we need to wake up and see green,
Grow like an evergreen...
