Sandra Chinonye Vivian Nwadi Poems

Curled up, I wonder in my bed
If you often have me in your thoughts
Or roll over timelessly
Thinking about just me
...

Always
Or
Sometimes,
The greatest act of love is to walk away,
...

I believe in love;
true love.
I believe in love;
Its existence and all it stands for
...

Long. Short.

The varied and endless lists
...

Some mornings, you wake up
With a deep rooted feeling
Of gladness and satisfaction,
With thoughts that everything
...

One day,
Four days ago
Like some other days all my life.
I made love.

The Chill

Curled up, I wonder in my bed
If you often have me in your thoughts
Or roll over timelessly
Thinking about just me
as my mind stubbornly roams.
At unpatterned intervals,
I too stretch and flip over.

Around you, I feel the throbbing,
Quickened sounds of my drumming heart beats.
I am almost always over the mountain edge
And I do not know how I climbed up.
I can feel the burning of emotional
Heroin spreading from deep inside
Reflecting on my face,
Burning up my light skin
To an invisible red blush.

Always, I chew, grind and ruminate
Constantly about the enticing edible words
You feed to me and how you act.
Wanting an answer to your proposals.
Unconsciously, covering up with a thick
Blanket of who I am and what is best
From the feuding fever that chills me
Each time I hungrily think of you or not.

This feeling of the fever,
This feeling of the cold,
A flaming phenomenal ill of some sort
Liberally creating unwanted chaos.
These three, I can inexplicably not bear.
