In the mirror of life
how I wonder with strife;
The life i lived for half and two score
left there is much more;
...
Before It Is Night
In the mirror of life
how I wonder with strife;
The life i lived for half and two score
left there is much more;
Will it be glory and shine
or just back what has been mine;
I hope for light and dawn
in me and around in the town;
With desire, strength and fawn;
Smiles and wishes in the air,
bliss and joy in the flair;
Healthy heart and a strong shell,
mercy and love there to dwell;
Hopes and desires all aglow,
no holes in castings or fires to blow;
Heavenly bliss far and around,
shine and silver turf on the ground;
Merries and cheering to be found, around and all around;
Glory to the remaining years,
done away with gloom and fears;
Desire be my friend and mate,
with no place for abhor and hate;
All the brethren smiling and proud,
me standing up high in the crowd;
Mercy of God and His light,
pure mind and body in delight,
wish and desire before it is night.
