Sara Coslett Poems

what was love like
in history

were cities infestations of bondage
...

“…accept me
as your true friend
in bondage
till our lives fail…”
...

The hardest moments without you,
are during the thinking,
sleeping, dreaming minutes
of each day.
...

I want to lighten my load
... to be the weight of light.
I want to travel to you
... at the speed of light.

Infestation Of Bondage

what was love like
in history

were cities infestations of bondage
where men and women
endowed themselves
with the responsibility
to grow more men
embracing hatred
as their favorite ally

was love a thing to be taken
like fruit waiting to ripen on a tree
before the worm eats the core

did girl meet boy
feeling the butterflies in her heart
fluttering madly

or did boy see girl
taking what he needs
often at the right moment
to plant his seeds

was love
an infestation of bondage
to be shrugged off
in the next generation.
