Sarah Huntington Poems

It happened again
Even though you swore it wouldn't
I'm lying here speechless
...

Love is thinking of the
Other person even when
...

Once upon a time
My life lost it's rhymn
My mom got sick
and my heart, it took a hard kick
...

Trading your diamonds
For his dog tags
Marine Corps love is trading

It Happened Again

It happened again
Even though you swore it wouldn't
I'm lying here speechless
The pain is radiating through my body

I want to cry, but I won't
For that is weakness in your eyes
You hate the weak
would you hate me?

I hate you so much when you hurt me
But I always give you another chance
I always believe you'll change
But you never do

You always say you're sorry
You say that it will never happen again
But it always does
Does hitting me make you feel like more of a man?
Why do you hurt me like this?

Now everytime a male raises his arm around me, I flinch
Have I forgotten that not all men are like you?
You say you love me
So why do you hurt me?

It makes me feel so small
It makes me feel so fragile
So here I lie
Why get up?
You'll only knock me down again

It happened again
Even though you swore it wouldn't
