Forever

I feel numb as though nothing can hurt me.
But not invincible.
No.
Definitely not invincible.
Not for as long as
your presence remains,
lingering around my heart and soul.

I stand in the shower, thinking of this,
thinking of you.
Water pours down my naked body,
and I tell myself,
you are the last song in my symphony
because you were made
just for me.

Everything we have is what I want to be,
everything you are is what I want to be with.
I want to watch your eyes
bore into mine,
looking straight through my skull,
beyond my brain,
and into my soul.

I used to search for that one luminous place,
the place where all is good,
the place I've been missing for far too long.
I looked in all the wrong places,
the answer was never a thing,
it was never a feeling
nor a friend.
My answer is you.

I was born without reason,
and without hope.
I thought I had found my reason long ago,
but I was wrong.
You are my reason,
you are my hope, my faith, my one.

Each moment I spend with you,
puts a smile on my face.
I used to smile
with tears in my eyes.
I used to smile
when I was dying inside.

But now?
I smile for you.
Your name is greater than the stars
and the moon.
Your voice is like a current,
taking me away from reality
and bringing me to a place of only light.

My words are not feigned...
And though there will be many things in this
world which remain
a mystery to me,
I am undoubtful of this...
I'll need you,
Forever.
