Change

Life changes fast
From puppies and dolls
To movies and the mall

I was so excited
To finally be noticed
But I was wrong

It sucks
Terribly
That I just want to run away

To happy place
Where I know I am safe
This is not what I thought it was cut out to be

There are liars, backstabbers
Skanks and hoes
And the suck up everyone knows

I could ignore them at first
Like they were not even there
Until they intervened in my life

Now I’m scared

It changed so drastically
I didn’t see it coming
But it was because love came in

And I took off running

They say you crawl before you walk
And you walk before you run
But I skipped all the steps

And just took the run

I tripped and I stumbled
Falling head over heels
Trying to believe
Everything was for real

I cried out in pain
For what met me on the way
A stab in the back
And a broken heart in pain

Falling short of my journey
Everything coming to a stop
Feeling the rage
Of all the enemies I fought

Being pushed and shoved
Feeling his merciless face
Laughing at my agonizing pain

I kick and I hit
Doing everything to fight
But having no chance
They wanted the last laugh

So I give up
Having no chance
Until I was miserable at best
But then a light shown in

My fight being changed
Until I was on top
And I had a chance
I was never wrong

But this isn’t what I wanted
For my love to be my fight
For us to be a war
Like never before

So I push and push
Just to get bye
Looking for my love
Until I reach his deep moonlit eyes

He looks at me
Then shakes his head
I knew it was over
When I saw the dead

Then a beautiful princess
Jumped into his arms
And they rode away
Leaving only a scar

But this is not it
How it all should be
It was us to live
In perfect harmony

But life isn’t a fairy tale
You cant always dream
Or you’ll fall head over heels
Just like me

So the knight and the princess
Rode far away
Leaving only lies and dreams
Risk I cant take

I woke up knowing my dream
Is now my dreaded reality
