The Rag Doll

There was once a rag doll,
Who was attached to strings,
was quite small,
and wished she sprouted wings.

She longed to fly away,
but could only do so,
if her owner came to play.
So one day,
she runs away.

Outside she had naught a friend,
No beginning but a tragic end.

Her entire soul was drowned in sadness,
Her lonely world was nothing but blackness.

So she simply spreads out her hands,
and let go.
Free from her bands,
she floated down like snow.

Now she watches from above,
How we kill and stab and lie and shove.
Happy in a land so high above,
That she isn’t in a world running out of love.
