The final date

A shriek, a wail and up she was,
Haunting memories were the cause,
...

How this world stays by your side,
When spirits and fortune are on the high,
And friends are nowhere to be found,
Just when you need them, no one’s around.

The Final Date...

The final date

A shriek, a wail and up she was,
Haunting memories were the cause,
A twinkle in her eye and smile false,
Now all she does is stare at the four walls.

Smeared with blood,
Hands shaky and cold,
Buried deep in the mud,
A story she left untold.

A story of deceit, betrayal and lies,
There were no tears, not even goodbyes,
Her life was full of sorrowful cries,
Her mind was flooded with thoughts full of 'whys? '

The day they met,
T' was heaven on earth,
Repaying a debt,
She reduced him to dirt.

On that cold and story night, he lay awake,
He realized his emotions for her; he could no longer fake,
He thought of all the excuses that he could make,
For his new found love, he put his old at stake.

She completely unaware of his intentions,
Was carelessly humming his favourite tune,
Of her fears she didn't even make a mention,
They were confirmed on that grey day in June.

He knocked at her door, seeming ever so sincere,
And curtly said, 'We need to talk dear'
The look on his face made her feel very queer,
As she listened, trickled down a tear…

Without a pause, he headed for the door,
And down her spine ran a wicked chill,
Nothing could have succeeded in shattering her more,
Within her dawned the desperate urge to kill.

With a blurred and misty vision,
About to fulfill an unaccomplished mission,
She was firm about her final decision,
Pain was taken over by frustration.
With purposeful strides, she walked towards his home,
All was quiet, everything serene,
Tears in her eyes and a quiver in her tone,
On that betrayer, why did she lean?

That was it, she could take it no more,
She hated him from of her heart, the core,
Her soul torn, heart broken and sore,
She picked up the knife lying on the floor…

A broad grin and a sense of satisfaction,
The next morning she woke up content,
His deceitful life she ended in a fraction,
His death, on her heart, didn't even leave a dent…
