I have no poem tonight
But life in its strange beauty surprises

I WENT TO WHERE MY SADNESS IS

I went to where my sadness is
I named it
...

IF I COULD ONLY BEAR MY OWN SILENCE

If I could only bear my own silence
If I could only be quiet and still
...

ALL THE THINGS WHICH I WOULD BE

All the things which I would be
And am not
...

IT IS ONLY THE POETRY

It is only the poetry
Through which the deepest inner feeling
...

WHAT POEM WILL THE NIGHT WRITE TONIGHT?

What poem will the night write tonight?
A black poem?
