No More
Years ago when she fed it, and it was strong. It pounded her chest ever so hard, like a wild animal fighting to be let out of its captivity.
This was when she loved.
Then, it started to hurt. The pounding was too strong, too soon. And she realised what started the pounding, left. But somehow the pounding, pains and scars from the strength of the blows never left.
This was when she cried. She loved no more.
It pounded her chest ever so lightly, like a dying animal pleading to be cared for.
It was held captive by ribbed cages, unfed for years. She was surprised it was still alive.
This was when she decided to be numb. She took cried no more.
Then, the light pounding turned to knocks. Knocks to taps. Taps to silence. This was when it all ended.
This was when she was no more.
