It’s 6 AM, and the sun is rising,
I’m waking up over the keyboard again.
I shower, dress, and get on Facebook,
And see what’s going on with my friends.
...
With the red, white, and blue before us
We have weathered mighty storms,
Because our people are resilient, determined, and warm.
Happy birthday, America!
...
The daily sun has weathered her face,
But the old barn stands like a Valley Oak.
And now, they’re sprucing up the place,
Painting away the years, stroke by stroke.
...
Standing on a ladder, reaching up high,
Almost looks like he’s touching the sky!
Painting, he uses ladder rungs for stilts,
He’s making the old barn look newly built.
...
The quiet of the black asphalt inviting,
A sun-scorched audience of weeds lining the route,
Inhaling, exhaling, inhaling, exhaling
As shoes rhythmically beat out music of the run.
...
Lord, You are with me always
Ready to step in when needed
With hope, strength, and peace
Ever-present with blessings!
...
Fireworks, family, and barbeques
Laughter, flashlights, moon and stars
Patio chairs, jackets, and mosquito repellant
Fourth of July memories.
...
Over the winter, our taste buds yearn
Our memories kick in, and they follow suit
Waiting until the weather will turn
And we get a taste of that summer fruit!
...
6 A.M.
It’s 6 AM, and the sun is rising,
I’m waking up over the keyboard again.
I shower, dress, and get on Facebook,
And see what’s going on with my friends.
