From Whence Does Love Arise?

From whence does love arise?
From corners locked in wounded mind,
or passions reined by hurting heart?
Cornered feelings trapped & bare,
Emotions bent all out of shape?

Or does it come from kindness crushed,
stamped upon, suppressed & hushed?
When gentle soul is beaten down
but longs for kisses hot & sweet
to mend its bleeding open wounds..?

With offered hands & gentle words,
& eyes that gaze but never judge,
adoring heart melts hurting heart
and purifies the gaping sores of
a soul so bruised & sad.....
