I have been writing poetry for over ten years now. I would like to start getting them out there for people to see and my goal for the would be to publish a book sometime in the future. I have won The Peter Moynagh Poetry Competition two years running and have recently entered a number of other competitions such as The Salmon Poetry Prize.)
My Moment
Time stood still while moments passed,
As I unveiled myself, the material clinging
To the surface of my skin,
I pull gently, so it does not snag. Slowly,
Revealing the workings of my inner being.
Have Patience, for it is a fragile foundation it stands on,
A template of what is to come.
I am the audience,
The piece,
the artiste,
The director of my own exhibition in the body that is mine.
I prepare for the grand opening, for when the white light leaves
No shadow in its presence.
Nothing but;
Pure,
Raw,
Simplicity.
For the beauty in being,
is beauty in itself.
