I’m going home soon enough,
But for now I gotta hang tough.
I know that if I hold my tongue,
I'll be home soon, and I won’t be wrong.
My mother loves me, I know she does.
If she didn’t, I’d have no clue where she was.
I know there’s someone; somewhere has it worse than I do,
But I have a long list of sorrows and regrets that I'm still adding to.
I need to finish grade ten, this much is clear,
If I don’t, I’ll be in school for three more years.
I Know I’ll make it home I just know I can,
But if I don’t pick my battles, I'll mess up the whole plan.
I'm almost done here, just a month and a half,
I've just gotta ignore snide comments made by the staff.
I’m getting out of here, that’s written in stone
Because I know what time it is. It’s time to go home!
