Why Do We Hate?

Why do we hate?
When we don't have our way
Why, when love goes astray
Why do we hate
With evil looks and a cold stare
With weapons that cripple and destroy
Why do we hate without remorse or care
Why don't we just love and share the peace we could enjoy?
