We Pray

Just like the angels,
We pray.
For the shattered lives of men,
Who fought like cannons,
Time and time again.
We pray,
Not the sound of bullets,
But peace and tranquility,
For their lionhearted spirits.

Just like the saints,
We pray.
For the damned fate of bondsmen,
That only wished to hold a cross
While trapped within the inferno.
We pray,
Not a stake through those hearts,
But a paradise,
Far beyond the stars.

Just like the monks,
We pray.
For the deaths of innocents,
That were tortured,
And tormented in silence.
We pray,
Not the ill-treatments they they'd received
But the rights to be justified
Which they deserve.

Just like the nuns,
We pray.
For the broken hearts
and crushed dreams of parents'
that ended in devastating screams.
We pray,
Not the grief-stricken feeling of despair
But ghost ray of light,
That illustrates hope and aspiration.

Just like the priests,
We pray.
For the unheard voices of children,
That were excluded,
in a world of avarice and abuse.
We pray,
No more disregarded words
But the remembrance,
Of their appreciated achievements.

Just like a friar,
We pray.
For the penurious vagrants,
A life, a presence, like the air
Because they're discounted as a part of society.
We pray,
Not the sound of footsteps passing,
But jingles and clinks
Of coins dropping.

We are all beautiful as dawn,
Dominant as the sun.
Our beauty maddens the soul like wine,
Bright as fallen fragment of the sky.
We live in a world of sunshine,
Below the luminous, evening stars.
We are free like doves with silvery wings,
Let our souls fly...
