Stuck inside an unknown place
Within feel cold and disconnect
Easy to the eye, exotic face
Caused me a rare warming effect.

A lovely smile I watched from far
Never to feel her within my reach
Destiny went and raised the bar
She's now close and prone to breach.

She grows on me with such an ease
I truly sense that I am back
She makes my time go like a breeze
My stranger self can now retract.

I play around yet don’t forget
That I am barred to cross the line
But in my book the sole regret
Is not to relish what’s divine.

I pay the world my deaf attention
Omit the should and crave the want
It’s hard to ignore the rising tension
It’s hard to always feel you can’t.

As her charisma lifts my day
As her silhouette draws my desire
Chances of me shying away
Drop off as wood ignites my fire.

Behold a night of joy and craze
My cards lay face-up on the table
Her response leaves me in daze
I have been forced to bear a label.

I go for drawing from her lips
Inaction she pays in return
Confusion stains my fingertips
And dire awareness is now born.

The second try is just as brutal
The deity has made up her mind
Sweet talk and fencing are just futile
And night takes my soul for a grind.

She sticks with me, back to my place
We swim across intoxication
I still try hard, to read her face
Is she not feeling the connection?

As time slows down she lays with me
Closer than ever, hold her hand
There’s no elsewhere I want to be
The calm I lost can now expand.

I start to touch her, feel her fright
She had made clear what’s at stake
If this is wrong, why feel so right
If she can feel it, why try to fake.

I grant the win, admit the fail
Aware of some potential sorrow
For once I thought it would prevail
To place today over tomorrow.

And there she is, once again
The goddess still removes my woe
But was there ever more to gain?
Another first, I just don’t know.

(Dedicated to the sweetest bite of darkness...)
