'Indeed Not' After The Poem 'she Does Not Belong' By Katie Todd
There once was a girl who seemed out of place.
She was a bubble in the desert,
or water in space.
She was a fish unable to climb a tree.
She found herself homeless at home,
and nowhere out to see.
If you took care to look,
you could see by the confusion in her eyes,
the awkwardness edged on her funny face.
I’ve always known she never belonged in this place.
Where among others,
unable to cope with this world’s rules,
while screaming for another.
She must have felt trapped,
still she tried to find life in past scars,
failed into total scrap.
It still haunts me to this day,
what I could have done,
if I had known to go another way.
And she in a different world allowed to be.
