Lucky Sweet Aroma

Do you like my smile?
My giddy laugh?
Do I do a good job…
Of painting on my mask?
Did I fool you?
Or could you see…
The smudges paint
Smeared across my face?
I admit,
More time should be spent,
In front of a mirror
Tracing the lines I see you use.
I want to ask,
“Can you show me,
Your tricks?
Help me master
your phony smile? ”
Suddenly,
You eye me suspiciously.
A glimpse was caught,
Of myself peeking out.
I hold my breath.
You seem confused,
Perplexed by,
the fake colors I use.
But then you smell the perfume,
And can breath at ease.
Same as everyone else.
Lucky sweet aroma.
You are deceived.
