The Fool On The Bus

The fool on the bus
Will he sit next to us?
We all say our prayers
As he clambers up the stairs.
Then with relief and glee,
See him sit next to me,
And grabbing me by the collar,
Hear him begin to holler:
'You're coming home with me;
Mother's making tea! '
From the corner of your eye
See me squirm in mute reply.

Then as you travel on,
Laugh when we are gone.
Home to tea with Mother,
The fool and his brother.
