Stephen Sherwood Poems

I am the music a simple spare note
I pierce through silence, set the dancers afloat
I am the rhythm, I am the rhyme
I am the music and wickedly divine
...

Here i stand, im invulnerable
yet all i see is another empty hole
i dug it myself,6 feet beneath the ground
im searching for a soul in the body that i found
...

The contradiction of - endless love and eternal hate
Makes us bring together what they separate
The sky was burned with the smell of smoke
The pain still not cured, but there’s always hope
...

She's got a tattoo of a target
and it's printed on her back.
I think that I could mark it
but I could not be exact-
...

Noises
Fluttered paces
Half raised steps keeping time
Like two old ghosts the float and shine
...

Silence
It’s all around
Mocking us with a senseless sound
Will someone please just break this spell?
...

Love, it is a bullet.
What you want when your afraid.
You'd shoot to kill, if it's life you'd save.
And when it hits,
...

My dear apocalyptic friend,

Will you shine when the world comes to an end?
when nothings left to orbit, where will you go?
...

Were the cameras ever rolling in the blood split square?
When's a tank verse a man ever gonna be fair?
You fight for your freedom, your right of speech,
Its just the only thing that ever made you unique.

The Best Poem Of Stephen Sherwood

*i Am*

I am the music a simple spare note
I pierce through silence, set the dancers afloat
I am the rhythm, I am the rhyme
I am the music and wickedly divine

An acrobat hurling through circles of flame
I am the enemy the one who’ll take blame
Slither slither across that old stage
I am the curtain and I hide the same

I am the script but you must turn the page
I know there’s a difference in wisdom and age
I am dissected, and cut between the lines
Your searching for a meaning but there’s nothing left to find

The audience is me, now I’m in the crowd
I’ll listen to your voice, I hear it clear and loud
I watch with amazement as if I’m mesmerized
You love what you do and I see it in you eyes

I am the ticket I’ll lead you to your seat
And if I’m worth the money I’ll sweep you off your feet
I am the rose thrown upon the floor
I am just another act, its all a metaphor

I am an actor I love to pretend
I am a prophet who cannot see the end
I am a sequel there’s more to me then this
I’m the screech from broken violins

I am a writer, yet aren’t we all
I’ll get up and walk if I can take the fall
I am a poem, and I am a bird
I sit upon Pallas, nevermore is my word
