Rocking Chair

So this was the day he left
All that’s left is the cold worn out rocking chair
Gently rocking back and forth in the wind
Home to cobwebs where the Black Widow laughs
And guilt strikes my soul
Knowing there was something I could do

I scream to the night
The heavens curse me
I had to grow up so quickly
And now that your guiding light is absent
I wonder what if…

I need the warmth that you gave to me
What I wouldn’t give to have you hold me one more time
And tell me it’s ok
How does the world move on?
