Simple Distractions

Well it’s nice to hear your voice again
To see you weren't only in my mind
To know all the moments that we spent
Really happened once upon a time
Screaming in silence
Does she even make a sound
I fell in love with what isn’t mine
I’ve won a battle but I’m losing this war

It’s hard to drown the voices
If you don’t learn to swim
Even when you're trying
You'll never win in the end

This is not what we planned.
You were my only temptation
and now I’m part of a nation
Of those who came together
How do you find your way back
When you just think you can't
And know that it's best to move on
It's pointless to be dragged along

I fall, I struggle, I reach
For the skies above
But it's no use
I've gone too far
I pity your faith
