Asking Why

I used to tell myself
The stars got together
& conspired against me
To make me feel this way

My bones don't fit right
In my skin
Like a pair of pale, itchy tights
Feet getting stuck on my
Moodiness

Crazy b****

Don't be crazy

I'm done contemplating why.
For now I put that word into their mouths
For safekeeping
Like a bottle of antidepressants
Turned snake mid-swallow

Why do you even try?
When people look at you
They see decay
You'll never be enough
Why not give up now?

Why can't you make up your mind?

Why can't you just get over it?

Why?
