Fear Of Night, Fear Of The Man

silent and sill until the creak of the door as it opens slowly.
the light from the hallways spills in to the room.
it might as-well have being the sun it burns enough.
a shaky breathe being drawn in and the door closes with a light click
heavy slow footsteps edging close to the forbidden.
in the cold darkness, in the moment she moves her face to see
what is reaching for her in the night.
a muffled scream and tears staining cheeks.
the scene of innocence taking from the soul.
she feels like she is drowning but she can breathe
the weight on her like a anchor pinning her to the sea bed.
will she ever reach the surface to feel the warm glow of the sun.
but when its over its felt like years of pain and darkness.
unable to see her future she lays still waiting for what happens next.
but next never came. instead she watches him leave as quietly as he came.
the footsteps the door the light all clear in her mind.
the thing that keeps her here sane on this earth is counting the footsteps.
if only it was the once.
if only it was over.
but its never over.
why cant she stop it.
why dosent she brake.
maybe she tried.
she needs saving from herself
to much pressure for anyone to take
no one wants to hear it
its out of the norm
so shes back into the silence.
waiting, hoping it wont be the same.
