All the world's a store and we are merely consumers.
We buy into all sorts of things-
trends, public opinion, the media, politicians, scare-tactics,
sex, sensationalism, pop-culture, drama;
and anything that's bigger, better, faster, or more entertaining.
Our lives are cluttered with heaping distractions
that began with the single idea that we are lacking.
Our hoardings have become for us a massive pacifier
that hypnotizes our senses with each suck.
If we were to filter out most of the bombardments for
our time and attention,
we'd find that all we really have to do every day is
show up for our lives-
being here and now, presently aware,
not missing out on what's important
as it quickly moves to the past into the enormous
soup of leftover missed opportunities.
