Susanna Andrews Poems

I started learning how to play,
About five years ago.
And five years later, I'm sorry to say,
There are three whole songs that I know.
...

He who saved us from our sins
Was born to set us free
That we might be able
To live eternally.
...

Exams are round the corner
And I don't know what to do!
They keep telling me to study,
I don't think that'll happen, do you?

Playing The Piano

I started learning how to play,
About five years ago.
And five years later, I'm sorry to say,
There are three whole songs that I know.

Playing the piano's supposed to be,
A relief from stress or homework.
But what playing the piano is to me:
It's just a lot more work.

People say that I don't put in much effort,
Even though I've finished the fourth grade.
I keep saying that it just hurts,
To do something that I hate.

They say I'm being quite lazy,
And not using my God-given talent.
I don't understand why they can't see,
That I hate this dreadful instrument.

One day, I'll learn to love to play
The piano, so it seems.
But until the arrival of that day,
It will be hard, I believe.
