The Fallen Aphrodite
She walked past swiftly;
Swiftly, and with her eyes
fixed straight ahead
she walked past him;
An Aphrodite could not have been
Prouder,
Prouder than this little minx
who walks in contempt of
everyone
Everyone who dares assert
his existence
for the world, she believes
belongs to her,
Only to her.
Yet,
when he is not looking
in her direction
she seeks him out,
and stares at his being;
Wanting, it seems,
to transfuse the essence
of a soul out of her imagination
into his body;
