Sylvia Dombeck Poems

If time stood still
Or we could turn back the clock
Would we feel fulfilled
Or build on a new block
...

Now that I'm reaching my 75th year
I'm taking notes as to how I appear
I may be fat but I am funny
Some folks even think that I'm as sweet as honey
...

We have camps and farms
Woodlands with charms
Especially our covered bridges
Trails to hike and hills with ridges
...

To Our Children

If time stood still
Or we could turn back the clock
Would we feel fulfilled
Or build on a new block
Having a family and building a home
Working together and writing a poem
Travelling and gathering momentos from near and far
Filled our lives with joy and no holds barred
Our children, our most desirable treasures
Brought us tears and laughter and endless pleasures
Now as we look forward and try to recall
Mistakes that we made without ill intent at all
We hope we achieve in our lives until now
A heritage worthy of all we endow
As to our future our only hope for you
Is that you too feel fulfilled in all that you do -
