The Witches Of Sunderland

It's that time of year
When we try to scare
The little ones with stories

Of witches stews
And cauldrons full
Of everything that is gory

As you turn out their light
Tell them sleep tight
It's then that you need to fear

For the witches of Sunderland
Heard you make fun of them
Without caution or care

As they stare in their stew
One eye green one blue
They start to cast their spell

Black wing of raven
Find them no haven
As we open the gates of hell

Let them feel fright
All through the night
Until the next raising sun

At which time we'll hear
Apology loud and clear
To the witches of Sunderland

So before you tell stories
About witches without worries
Remember that you read this tale

For Halloween night
Is the time they will strike
And you don't want to know what's in hell
