tawanda mutukwa Poems

each day has its sunrise and sunset
the victories and the losses and yet
our souls are left void
voices that are screaming to be heard
...

Withe each step the road may grow harder
the thorns ever more sharper
the dream seems to stretch even further
and your sadness grows larger
...

I have a song in my heart
so deep, so strong, so true
It grows ever louder as I look at you
your smile, your eyes, those lips
...

I watched the sunset a thousand times
I wondered how come I dint feeel its shine
The promise of you in my mind
all I can say is you are not mine
...

I have a voice that wants to be heard
crying and screaming as it yearns
though I am among
that voice asks me where I belong
...

I choose you to be my first
to value and treasure
to your true worth
I choose you to be number one
...

A Brighter Day

each day has its sunrise and sunset
the victories and the losses and yet
our souls are left void
voices that are screaming to be heard

All this time there is a brighter day coming
when the light will be shining
and there is no ceasing to the silver lining

A brand new day will come
just as we are drowning
and the seas of misery are swirling
somewhere the trumpet will blare
and from the deep dark grey clouds
the light will burst forth announcing a brand new day

If the heart indeed is troubled
and the signs indeed echo the word 'discouraged'
take heed, because he promised a brand new, brighter
day is looming on the horizon
