My Sister
From the womb of my mother I fell
To a spread plane of white cloak
Covered with blood and its smell
I smiled as innocently as one of the flock.
In that crowded place
Hovered with dim light
I found an angel like face
Shining like a star so bright.
Time passed by
We fought for more ice-creams
She still sang lullaby for me but why?
And together we mended our dreams.
On other wedding days
While other siblings cry
Due to the power of separation rays
I teased them without knowing why.
Later on her wedding day
Though I don’t easily cry
I tried hard in the best way
But I couldn’t stop a tear roll by.
She walked past me
With the man she loves
To a place I cannot see
They flew away like doves.
Seasons changed
Time changed
Life changed
I too changed.
She is sweet, smart and bright
She cheers me up when in sadness I pass
She taught me of the Godly light
Oh! Can anyone be better than this lass?
I longed to hear her voice
I longed to see her
As alone, I cannot make noise
I couldn’t define my love for her.
Emotional and joyous, what a great combo for a poem!
