Terfa Danjuma Nenger Biography

TERFA Danjuma Nenger has been in the literary cycle for over ten years now, starting out as a participant at the Annual Schools Carnival of Arts and Festival Songs in 2002 where his passion for writing and the arts was weaned. A graduate of Urban and Regional Planning from the Federal University of Technology, Minna. Terfa is the Public Relations Officer II of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Niger State Chapter, where he is a very active member. He is a Mentor and Programme Manager at the Hilltop arts Centre, Minna. A reputable performance artist/poet who has exhibited at national events across the country some of which include, ANA international Conventions, MBA international Literary Colloquium and NAFEST 2009, where he was officially contacted to produce ‘Speechless Lines’ (audio poetry) an Ode on Niger State. Terfa Danjuma Nenger is the Executive Director of the Literary and Media outfit, SYMPTLIGHT Services LTD. He has been involved with many professional activities such as, Production Assistant NAFEST 09, Minna, opening ceremony, for the Children Command Performance, Organizer, ASCAFS, Facilitator and organizer of the Hilltop arts Creative Writing Workshop on poetry and co-edited the Children Anthology, (Dewdrops) , as well facilitated and published the Anthology ''RISE OF MUSTARD SEEDS’’ a collection of poems from Government Secondary School, Atu, in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross Rivers State during his National Youth Service (NYSC) . Terfa has been recognized by the “Something for Everybody Ventures” (Abuja) , for his contribution to the promotion of Naija Langwej in 2012 and also awarded the Cross Rivers State, NYSC Governing Board Chairman’s Award 2013, for his outstanding contribution during his youth service in the state. He has been involved in several seminars both as an organizer and as participant, some of which includes ANA Conventions,1st Northern Nigerian Writers Summit, MBA international literary Colloquium, he is a member of several associations and organizations such as Association of Nigerian Authors, Lead Inspire Transform, Calabar, Young Disciples International, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Niger State Chapter. Terfa Danjuma Nenger has written several unpublished works and is with the Niger State Book Development Agency.)

Once
I saw a maiden, comely
In a threshold, lonely
Smiles torn from fortune fair
Like stains of a button cleared

Comely maiden
Full of life to be my wife
What troubles your mind
From fortunes paradise

Mother sings at her age
She desires my better clay
An embrace for a golden day
