Not Until It's Completely Certain

The clock ticked as I waited
Silently in my cosy chair,
I was hugged by my jacket,
Which shielded me from the cold
That poured forth from the air conditioners.

I was quite bold,
To have written so fast,
I assured myself of mistakes made,
But was proved wrong when I read it again.
And so all doubt began to fade,
Assured I was of more positive thoughts.

I set my pen down as I nodded with a smile,
I gloriously fixed the final tile,
My Sistine Chapel was thus complete,
I amazed myself at this feat.

However! As five minutes were left,
I noted the missing important aspect.
There was panic and grief
As it all came undone,
Woe oh woe,
My undoing has come.
