titilayo sunday Poems

I'm proud to be an African
To be born of the race of blacks
For the blood runs in my heart
It seize not in times of plight
...

When my heart beats no more
I hope to die for a believe i lived for
For i feel the shadow's depth
Pricking it's thorn upon my raw flesh
...

Along the waving coast of time
I rely not on my aging mind
Long ago my believe is due
To reveal the sudden truth
...

Like the serrating sun of the east
Setting upon the lashes of my brow
His appearance out of the wind
Detest the parting of my soul
...

Forget the past and move on
My soul keeps craving to press on!
But the spirit of the past
still haunts me
...

The sordid prayer of a prey
Is to be in hide
When the unsatisfied
Comes to find
...

Pasting your succulent tongue against my mouth
Has brought me out of the wilderness of doubt
Tasting with a burning rage of fire
To quench my thirst of desire
...

If ever am locked up inbetween decisions
or my world is falling apart
If ever am too tired to take up any action
Or too scared to bounce back
...

Pride Of Africa

I'm proud to be an African
To be born of the race of blacks
For the blood runs in my heart
It seize not in times of plight
Even in the face of war
I disown not the name of yours
For I'm like a Christ of Nazareth
Where those believeth not expect less
For it is my father's land
And the tongue of my mother's
I embrace the pain of your fate
Of which the whites made you taste
But in all I've come
Out of the conquer of yours
oh! Africa
It is you i adore
Blessed be you more.
