My Father Dear

He died in a cold and lonely room
By the glare of a neon light.
Gone from a world of hope and faith
To a dark and distant night.

My hero once, lies broken now
With dead, unseeing eyes.
Dark angels sing a sweet refrain
And weep from Godless skies.

I miss the man he used to be
Before life lost its passion
And though you're gone, my father dear
I loved you, in my fashion.
