The Mount

A flawless dream, mountain rise
blue-grey slash of haze and hope
erupts to mind with fantasy;
this high delusion in the sky
takes us hold without a care.

A burning ancient monument it
beckons those who need to fly
with ego or ignominy.
This corcle is the stuff of man,
sublimely it entangles us and
twists our wits to endless climb.

The mirrored gaze, the drug we crave
until our floating off this earth.
