The Girl I Used To Know

There's a girl I used to know, that thinks she's not that great.
I never saw her for twenty years, then some twist of fate

She don't say she's beautiful, but there are those that know
Her face is sweet, her eyes are honest, her heart as pure as the driven snow

She treats me kind, when I am down, and brings a smile to my face
There's just that way about her ways, certain things cannot be replaced

We both have past that worry us, that we must learn to weather
Maybe we can clear our minds, if we walk through it together

Our lives were feeling empty, until that faithful newyears eve
I don't have to look real hard, before I start to believe

Shes funny, smart, and full of life, and loves her children so
If I have a chance I'll make her happy, and never let her go.
