The Woods Of No More

Walking through the woods of no more
Where I used to go, just a few years before
The path is mud, the trees are bent
The world seems to have come and went

I don’t recognize her face or her eyes
I hear my mother nature’s cries
Her deer aren’t near, her fawn are gone
Perhaps to some tiny, faraway lawn

There is no green here, only dead gray
It wasn’t even her price to pay
Just for some timber, some logs, a few pencils
Mother nature suffered for some non-essentials

She shivers here in a cold careless coffin
She waits for her landscape once again ...
