You think I’m strong,
But you don’t know that I quiver at night
Fearing whatever awaits me in the morning of the next day
You think I’m behave,

When I was a child,
I used to think
that making decisions

Write Me Verses

Lately I’ve been reading
Poetry –
Haikus, classics and free-form verses.
Yes, with those sappy lines and
sentimental remarks…
With the sing-song rhymes and deep
Use of words
With the odd stanzas outlining
An almost nonsensical
Lullaby.

Poems which make me wonder,
“How true can love
be? ”

And which
leave me thinking,

“Will that time ever come?
When some strange person from nowhere
Writes a poem about me.

(Or maybe sings me a song
Or plays me a tune
Perhaps paints me a portrait
Or simply cares to dance…”)

Perhaps these,
Make up my profound longing for traditional romance

That I may never find.

So, Mr. Lost Prince, if you’re real,
Will you ever come?
This Valentines’s day
To sweep me away and make me verses if you’d like
Before I begin to disappear.
