One Less Star

Between the thickness
Exploding in nothingness

The last boom
before the bane

Shining so bright
Almost enough to make one loose sight

Alas!
It doesn't last

It won't be long
until I'm gone

But before my passing
I will leave behind something that is lasting

Even after I die
There will be billions of stars in the sky

As they look up it wont show
But you and I will always know
