The Passover

We sat around the Ring
You and I
Do you remember?
There were Satyrs
Snakes, Dwarfs
Elves.
All laughing and wrestling
Like kittens.
And when He roared,
We clashed our glasses together
And rejoiced.

I don’t know what happened-
We were left alone
We were angry.
We climbed that mountain
And we heard Him groan
And we hated it.
We hated Him.
