Venita Jackson Biography

I grew up in the 70's in Chicago. These were the good days when everyone seemed to get along with others well. The local cornerstore had what we called penny candy, because if you had a dollar you could get 100 pieces of candy and the kids could walk in the neiborhoods and not have to worry about anything but being happy, but long gone the days and now we have violence, drugs and unprotected sex. So I chose to indulge myself in Love and that is what inspired my 1st poem called Love.)

Love

Love is something you have to work hard at.
Love is something you just don't get.
Love can be overbearing, but it takes some caring.
Love is complicated and sometimes Love is overrated.
Love can be painful for Love is no angel.
Love can make you feel happy.
Love can make you feel sad.
Love can make you feel good.
Love can make you feel bad.
If you disagree with this, then you have just dismissed the true meaning of Love.
