Vernell L. Black Poems

The passage of time takes it's toll
Upon the mortal form
The beauty that once was
Fades. disappears, all gone
...

An arrow piercing a broken heart
Bring joy to one that sorrows
Always had been so sad, she was
But looking for a better tomorrow
...

Mix love with light
Who have you found?
God

The passage of time takes it's toll
Upon the mortal form
The beauty that once was
Fades. disappears, all gone

The joy of knowing, it went within
Is more than I can bear
Enhancing my spirit it makes me glad
The glory my spirit form wear

All the things I use to do
When I was young and strong
Seem so hard now sometimes I ask
What have I done, so wrong?

My hair is gray, my eyes are dim
My foot steps slow, won't go
But, good news I tell you I think to myself
My spirit is white as snow

Yes. the passage of time, has done it's duty
In it's mystical way
Preparing my soul for it's long stay
Up yonder, in Heaven, someday
