What mind had spray'd existence forth and birth'd the misty dream?
Whose little thoughts and memories the gods themselves esteem?
Outside of time and space and matter's universal seam,
the mind of Azathoth creates a happy, restful dream.

Song To Golden Nithyon

The diamond stars from ebon sky,
spear light to man's inquiring eye,
and thread beyond the day he'll die,
to glimpse the shore of Nithyon

The sea that lenses misty blue,
e'er whence the green auroras flew,
life's waning wrath, it shall subdue,
in climb to wondrous Nithyon

Oneiric metals, forg'd in sleep,
by Hypnos, burning in the deep,
make pillars whose stupendous steep,
stands guard o'er marvel'd Nithyon

The lunar breath of pallid kings,
that live beyond the highest rings,
and fly with splendid yellow wings,
perfumes the air of Nithyon

The golden sky beyond the dawn,
will rise at last, when night is gone,
from out the blacken'd deeps withdrawn,
thy column-girdl'd Nithyon

Beneath the ebon gulf of sky,
enlighten'd is the mortal eye,
which, upward from the day he'll die,
hath glimpsed the shore of Nithyon
