Wherever there were sick in need
maimed and wounded she would heed.
An infectious touch held no fear
love conquered terror brought her near.

There is a land whose name embraces
landscapes bright with flirtatious places.
Where busy fields give way to hills,
haunted by discarded mills.

Stubborn Love

Steel blue eyes that search your heart,
moistened by tears whenever we part.

Old Winter’s cloak loosens and breathes a cool goodbye,
multicoloured patterns lighten, then linger in the sky.
Jack Frost shows reluctance to leave this changing scene,
then solar persistence soon hurries his demean.

Clutching leaf's protective vane
tiny eggs shun solar glare.
Hectic larva to pupa chain,
hatching soon without a care.

Diana, Princess Of Wales

Wherever there were sick in need
maimed and wounded she would heed.
An infectious touch held no fear
love conquered terror brought her near.

‘A loose cannon’ said one,
but is it wrong to be full of fun?
Her brave campaign against the mine
convinced the world that they must sign

Delighted by infectious mirth
she thrilled us all with Princely births
The palace echoed to joyous glee
A future King the world will see

One sad day as summer passed
found madness in an underpass.
It was her end O’ wretched fate
corrupt pursuers could not wait.

Our tears that fell all made a stream
formed a river - burst a dream.
Her presence sadly touched each heart
now never will our Princess part.
