What You Call Life

I wake up to an amazing home
Breakfast, lunch money, dinner
Going to school
Getting A's in every class
Always staying on task
Life is a cycle
Round around I go

Life wasn't always as straightforward
My family thinks I'm better
But actually, I'm more demoralized than ever
All the money
All the support
I still seem crestfallen

Every day it's the same
Everyone sees a smile
But really I'm in despair
These A's I'm getting
Are killin' me
Gradually dwindling away

Homeless child
Workers ethics
Working six to three
Paying bills
Working hard
Is what I used to be

Living in Belmont
All high and mighty
These kids are not like me
Money, mansions, cars, and safety
Are never what I've had

Now I'm back
Back on track
And I'm feeling
More gloomy than ever

Surely I should be joyous
Living the life
That I've always fancied

Family, friends, pets, and the dead
Are always looking to leave me...
