A lonely cloud floats leisurely by.
We never tire of looking .........

Where do these comments come from? Li Po lived in the eighth century!

The poem may be 'fantastic and deep'! But can you tell us why? What does the word 'fantastic' mean to you? Why the semi-colon?

What do the birds flying up signify? Why does the majesty of the mountain awe the poet?

Poetry is both emotion and reason, not simply one or the other!

It is fantastic; and deep.

@ Will: What makes you say that?

A truly horrible translation.

I like this translation, but could you possibly provide the translator's name? Thanks.

It's funny how poem translations differ in different languages. In polish translation the second part of the poem says:
I sit meditating with the mountain. So there is only mountain.

I love this poem! I don't know how old you are, but I guess that doesn't matter. This poem is really peaceful. Does the mountain represent something? If not, this poem is still beautiful. I'm going to add it to my favorites.
