Up To You Poem by Amitava Sur

Up To You

Rating: 4.7

Up to you:
=========================
What finally you’ll gain at last –
By snatching and depriving all others!
How on earth, are you so sure –
That doing wrong things- will beget you more.

Commoners, adopting this shorter path
We all are the sufferers by the end at last.
Faster we gain and fastest we lose
Some instant pleasure with a doomed life.

I’m doing so many wrong things -
Only to gain my own longings.
But if anyone does any wrong with me -
Simply I hate and can not agree.
This itself is a hint enough –
To stop adopting the wrong path.
Even if I am half fed-
The soul is in peace- can have a sound sleep.
Every body at the end of the game
Is finally in the quest of peace

So, now it’s up to you –
An instant gain or peace for good!

If our conscience is pure and if we never strive to gain anything through unlawful means, even if we are half fed- the soul will be in peace- and we can have a sound sleep! Peace and happiness are the greatest possessions man can ever come to possess! An enjoyable read with a great message! !

Doing the wrong things might get you more in the beginning, but in the end you lose yourself having done harm to others. Even if you haven't enough in life, at least you can go to sleep and rest peacefully, knowing you have done no wrong. A choice everyone must make in life personal gain or peace of soul, filled with serenity? Great poem, Amitava, so true. RoseAnn

A very good write indeed Amitava. ill gotten gains do not last too long. They take wings and quickly fly away. A poor mans hard work pays off in that it allows him to have a good nights sleep while on the other hand a rich mans wealth does not allow him the luxury of a good nights sleep. Do unto others as you would them do unto you. A great write.
